OBIETTIVI FORMATIVI (COURSE OBJECTIVES):
CONTENUTI E TEMATICHE (SUBJECT MATTER):

STUDENTI INTERNAZIONALI (INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS):
The representation of the body as a two-dimensional image was produced using the most innovative techniques and materials for their own time - that is to say, design print, photography, digital photo, 3D...Over time it has formed a huge and complex cultural deposit in which the current society and its individual components is rooted and generates, reproducing and contaminating different knowledge. As the course will attempt to demonstrate, an image- or example an anatomical drawing of Leonardo da Vinci - involves not only the reflection of the artist but also that of the scientist, the philosopher and the historian, raising, at the same time, contemporary issues of self-perception.
Giving crucial importance at the "document", the Course will focus on sites and methods of image storage: Libraries, University Museums and Collections, web archives. The Foundation of the Academy of Arts and Design, which took place by Cosimo I in Florence, January 13 in 1563, this year marks the 450th. It will be the date for the start of our exploration, (though the golden age of anatomical studies and the origins of the dissettoria practice in the West start early, from the end of the XV century).
