OBIETTIVI FORMATIVI (COURSE OBJECTIVES):
Il corso è vòlto a fornire una preparazione di primo livello sui contenuti storici e conoscitivi dell’arte, in specie della via umanistica della forma, in un percorso fra percezione e pensiero, a sostegno delle capacità espressive richieste dalla formazione accademica.
CONTENUTI E TEMATICHE (SUBJECT MATTER):
Il corso per l’a.a. 2013-2014 considera argomenti sul pensiero e la natura in alcuni artisti del Quattrocento e dell’ Ottocento.

Lezioni teoriche (Theoretical Lessons)
MODALITA' DELLA DIDATTICA/ORGANIZZAZIONE DEL CORSO (TEACHING METHODS / COURSE ORGANIZATION):
Lezioni frontali con proiezione di immagini: lettura formale e commento storico e artistico delle opere con scritti di artisti, passi letterari e filosofici e saggi critici. Alcune lezioni saranno aperte a docenti di materie laboratoriali, e a specialisti invitati a parlare sui temi considerati. Visite a luoghi e musei in relazione agli argomenti trattati.
MODALITA' DI ACCERTAMENTO FINALE (FINAL EVALUATION):
L’esame è orale. Riconoscimento, lettura formale e commento artistico e culturale di opere presentate. Accertamenti sui saggi in bibliografia, al fine di valutare se lo studente abbia compreso i temi portanti del corso. Per gli studenti stranieri, l’esame orale si compone di una selezione di artisti concordata con il docente, e di un breve prova scritta su un’opera del corso. Per gli studenti che biennalizzano la materia, e che intendono chiedere la tesi, è richiesta una esercitazione scritta.
BIBLIOGRAFIA (BIBLIOGRAPHY):
La bibliografia, obbligatoria ai fini dell’esame, sarà comunicata all’avvio del corso. E’ obbligatoria la consultazione, di monografie sugli artisti presentati, e di un Manuale sui periodi trattati, a scelta dello studente.

Course Objectives
The course intends to provide students with a first level preparation regarding the historical contents and knowledge of art, especially from a humanistic viewpoint of form in which perception and thought will support the expressive capabilities required by an academic education.
Subject Matter
The course programmed for the academic year 2013-2014 will consider topics regarding Thought and nature in the work of some artists of the 15th and 19th century.

Final Evaluation
The final evaluation will consist in an oral exam: Identification / Formal interpretation and artistic and cultural comment regarding the presented works of art. Ascertainment of bibliography essays in order to evaluate the student’s comprehension of the principal course topics. The oral exam for foreign students will focus on a selection of artists (chosen in agreement with the professor) and a brief composition regarding a work of art that was studied during the course. A written exercise will be required of students who wish to attend the course for two years and intend to develop their thesis in this subject.
