La prova di esame consiste nella discussione, in presenza della Commissione, degli elaborati prodotti durante l'Anno Accademico. In particolare gli studenti dovranno dimostrare capacità di interpretare il testo drammatico, formulando una composizione scenografica coerente, esprimere con chiarezza ed adeguati mezzi tecnici, la propria idea di spazio scenico attraverso un progetto completo e realizzabile.
Si richiedono i seguenti elaborati: - ricerca documentata - studi preliminari - bozzetti in prospettiva- progettazione scenica - modellino in scala.

Course Objectives
The course intends to form set designers who will be capable of creating scenic design with competency and adequate technical knowledge. An attentive reading of texts regarding the composition and materials of set design will lead to an understanding of contemporary staging. The work of famous contemporary set designers will be studied with particular attention to the activity of Italian set designers of the second half of the 20th century.
Subject Matter
Famous actresses and women’s roles in the theatrical repertoire of the 20th century .
Particular attention will be given to women’s theatrical roles and to the most famous interpreters of those roles in order to emphasize the strength, vivacity, grace and wisdom of women that theatrical literature has depicted . The course will cover the theatrical portraits representing the clever woman of the comic repertoire of the 18th century and continue with the tragic heroine of early 19th century melodrama up to the characters of contemporary theatre.
