OBIETTIVI FORMATIVI (COURSE OBJECTIVES):
Il corso ha come obiettivo d’introdurre lo studente alle problematiche della scultura contemporanea.
CONTENUTI E TEMATICHE (SUBJECT MATTER):
La struttura è composta da due moduli. Il primo indirizzato all’analisi delle opere degli artisti più significativi degli ultimi venti anni, sotto il punto di vista sia tecnico sia poetico, che hanno come centralità il corpo e l’utilizzo della figurazione. Questa parte si avvale di proiezioni video e immagini, oltre visite a gallerie pubbliche, private e musei, sono previsti incontri con artisti e operatori del settore. Il secondo consisterà nella progettazione e realizzazione di un autoritratto.

The course objective is to introduce students to issues regarding contemporary sculpture.
The course structure is divided into two modules.
The first module concentrates on an aesthetic and technical analysis of the work of important artists of the past twenty years who have focused their attention on themes regarding "the body" and figuration. Class work will involve videos, images, visits to galleries and museums, and meetings with artists and people working in the arts sector.
The second module concentrates on studio work regarding self-portraits where students will be encouraged to use various materials compatible with contemporary research techniques.
