APPLICATION PROCEDURE

DEADLINES:

Applications must be sent in before:           June 1st (first semester / academic year)

                                                                    November 1st (second semester)

NOMINATION:

To facilitate a smooth nomination process, we have updated our procedure. The International Office of Partner institutions is no longer required to send an official list of nominated students via email. Instead, we kindly ask the IOs to complete the nomination process through our dedicated Google Form.

The nomination form can be accessed through the following link. Please ensure that a separate form is completed for each student you wish to nominate.

APPLICATION:

Students whose nomination has been accepted will be contacted and asked to send the following documents within the given deadline:

                • Student Application Form
                • Personal Statement
                • Official copy of your Transcript of Records in English (list of completed courses)
                • Portfolio*

• Preliminary Learning Agreement (you can complete your Online Learning Agreement and save                    it as a pdf. If your home institution does not use the OLA platform, use this form instead)
                • Copy of the European Health Insurance Card
                • Italian language certificate (B1)**

* When preparing your portfolio, focus on works that align with the course discipline, and highlight your unique vision and style. Choose a curated selection instead of including everything you've created. A concise portfolio with thoughtfully selected pieces is more impactful. It should reflect your artistic skills and personal perspective.

**
Applicants are strongly encouraged to reach at least a B1 level before arriving at ABAFI in order to follow the Academy courses taught in Italian. The Italian intensive course offered in our campus can help the student reach the required level, but it is not enough by itself, as it only provides 30 hours of teaching.

Results will be communicated to both candidates and their Institutes at the end of the application period.

STUDY PLAN - ONLINE LEARNING AGREEMENT:

Erasmus students whose application has been officially accepted, must proceed with the submission of their Online Learning Agreement - Before the mobility. Please note that the exchange of paper-based Learning Agreements is only foreseen with institutions that have not yet implemented digital exchange processes.

Erasmus+ students at the Academy have the flexibility to create their own schedules by choosing from a wide range of courses across different departments. However, they should ensure their choices align with the professors' agreements and their individual schedules. Undergraduate students can select only from Bachelor's degree courses, while graduate students may choose from the Master's degree offerings. For detailed course information, students should refer to the academic programs listed below:

                 • Bachelor’s Degree
                 • Master of Fine Arts Degree.

Erasmus students staying for only one semester should choose courses that match the length of their stay, avoiding yearlong courses. If a student exceptionally opts for a yearlong course for just one semester, they must obtain written approval from the professor. This approval should confirm participation for one semester and explain how credits will be allocated (typically half of the full course credits).
